NEW LEBANON — A Columbia County man was taken to Albany Medical Center on Thursday morning after the cement truck he was driving rolled over, state police said.

Keith A. Bailey Sr., of Niverville, had non-life threatening injuries, said Beau Duffy, director of information for state police.

At about 8:50 a.m., Columbia County 911 sent Lebanon Valley Fire Company and Chatham Rescue Squad to the dragstrip at Lebanon Valley Speedway after receiving a report that a cement truck had rolled over and the driver was inside the cab.

Crews were able to get Bailey out of the truck. He was examined by paramedics and taken to Albany.

A Life Net helicopter was placed on stand-by, but was not needed.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the truck that was onsite to pour concrete on a portion of the dragstrip when it overturned. Unsafe speed may have been a contributing factor in the crash, Duffy said.

The truck was towed from the scene.

Tsatsawassa Fire Department assisted Lebanon Valley.

All firefighters were back in service at 11:56 a.m.
