It's starting to seem like designing a fancy litter box for cats is a surefire path to success. This is the third one we've seen in the past four months that's struck crowdfunding gold. The Aimicat "Automatic kitty litter cleaning companion" rotates like a cement mixer that drops cat doodie (but not the litter itself) into a smell-proof compartment:

It's checked all the boxes, from the needlessly silly video to gimmickry to the promise of better living with less effort. And for the developers' efforts, at press time the Aimicat had racked up a whopping $370,056 on a $30,000 goal, with 20 days left to pledge.

Design entrepreneurs, I don't know what to tell you. Focus on cats and bad-comedy videos, I guess? At this point "Cats and Crowdfunding" should be a course they teach at design school.

Yes this is a poor imitation of the litter robot! The author Should look into another automatic litter box called www.ikuddle.com . Especially how customers have not yet received their litter box in over a year! it’s currently been like three months and still no updates!! I smell an  Expose! 

The author didn't do their due diligence in researching for this article. This litter box has existed for years. It's called the litter robot. This knock off is a copy of an already available product. 

I am pretty sure this is violating all kinds of patents, and I am fairly certain it is a scam, as this is extremely similar to the Litter Robot, which looks just about the same, except that it looks like this company printed themselves a new shell to hide the identical litter box, and are crowdfunding for something they aren't making, and that has already existed for over a decade. I am the proud owner of a Litter Robot, and a copycat scam artist is just not worth supporting.
